What counts as a timekeeper?+
Anyone in the firm who logs billable time against a matter — attorneys, paralegals, and any staff with a timekeeper record in your practice management system. It's the one word used across the site and your plan; it isn't the same as total employees or LawKPIs user seats.
How many user licenses come with my tier?+
3 on the 1–10 tier, 5 on 11–20, 10 on 21–50, 15 on 51–75, and 20 on 75+. That's enough for a managing partner, an administrator, and a few practice leads on most tiers — additional licenses are $50/user/month.
Is configuration really included?+
Yes. Dashboards are pre-configured by firm type, and any changes after that are included in your plan. There is no implementation fee at any tier.
What does read-only mean?+
LawKPIs reads data from Clio, MyCase, Smokeball, Lawcus, QuickBooks Online, Lawmatics, and Clio Grow. It never writes back to those systems — nothing in your practice management or accounting software is changed by connecting LawKPIs.
What happens when we grow into the next tier?+
Your plan updates to the new tier's price and included seats. There's no re-setup — your dashboards, Pulse, and history carry over.
What do extra seats cost, and when is moving up a tier cheaper?+
Extra seats are $50/user/month. If adding seats would cost more than the tier above, the configurator tells you directly on this page — moving up is sometimes the cheaper option.
Can we connect QuickBooks later?+
Yes. Most firms connect their practice management system first and get value immediately, then invite their bookkeeper to connect QuickBooks once — that's when true profitability and realization against actual collections come into view.
Is the trial really free without a card?+
Yes, for 14 days, on the 1–20 timekeeper tiers. No card is required to start.
How do we cancel?+
